A long weekend is usually something to celebrate, but not for me the onejust gone. Because the OFF in this case refers to my DBS neuromodulation system that helps me with the motor symptoms of PD.
By mistake (#1) I inadvertently managed to turn the system OFF just before we left for a weekend up at Langs. I also left behind the control device (#2). But such was the 'brain fog' and the ensuing nightmare of symptoms that I didn't know, and couldn't confirm, if the system was off.
Although by the time I got home I was praying that was what the problem was.
I cannot describe the sheer relief when I turned it back on.
I can describe how stupid i feel.
